Liverpool vs Norwich City Head to head Stats and Records: With Liverpool facing Norwich City in the Premier League opener, let us look at the head to head statistics between them.

The wait is finally over. The European champions will kick start the 2019/20 season of the Premier League against newly promoted Norwich City. Both sides will have vastly different goals for the season. Liverpool, who came agonizingly short of the title by a solitary point last season will look to go all the way this time. Norwich on the other hand, will want to secure their place in the Premiere League and will hope to avoid relegation.

Liverpool were unbeaten at the Anfield last season and are favorites to keep their streak intact against the Canaries tonight. The visiting side were in blistering form in the second-tier last season. However, they are aware of how different the English Top-tier will be.

Liverpool have all of their main players available for selection including Sadio Mane and James Milner. Mane arrived late for the pre-season training due to his involvement with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations. Milner missed the the Community Shield last weekend because of a mucle strain. He has since recovered. Norwich on the other hand, will be without injured central defenders Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann, along with midfielders Alex Tettey and Louis Thompson.

Recent Form

Liverpool haven’t had the best pre-season. They won only 3 of their 7 matches. Two of those victories came against much weaker sides in Tranmere and Bradford. Their only victory of not was against Lyon and even that was far from convincing. However, when it mattered the most, Liverpool delivered and took Manchester City to the brink of a loss. They were unfortunate to lose the Community Shield but they gave a good account of themselves and have shown that the Pre-season results don’t matter a lot.

In comparison, Norwich City have had a better pre-season winning 4 out 7 games. They defeated notable names such as Schalke and Toulouse but were also heavily defeated by the likes of Atlanta and Brentford.
