Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a stunning £350m bid for Paris Saint Germain’s star Neymar.

PSG kicked off the week on a hugely disappointing note, as Manchester United knocked them out of the Champions League.

The French champions cruised to a 2-0 victory in the first leg, but stunningly fell short in the second, as Solskjaer inspired an injury-hit Manchester United side to a 3-1 win at Parc des Princes.

Romelu Lukaku scored a brace, while Marcus Rashford struck an injury-time penalty winner to seal a place in the quarterfinal for Manchester United.

PSG fell short in the round-of-16 of the Champions League for the third time in a row. In 2017, PSG faced a similar defeat to Barcelona. The side comfortably cruised to a 4-0 win in the first leg but were stunned 6-1 at Camp Nou in the return game.

Last year, the side lost to Real Madrid.

However, the side could now face further setback as it has now been reported that Neymar could be set to leave the club for Real Madrid.

Real plotting £350m bid for Neymar?

According to a report by Spanish outlet Sport, Real Madrid are preparing a £350m deal for Neymar to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian forward currently earns £31m at Parc des Princes, but Real Madrid are set to better the offer, according to reports.

The Los Blancos will reportedly pay him £39m over the five seasons with a record release clause, which would make him the highest paid footballer in the world.

Interestingly, PSG could be inclined to consider the bid from Real Madrid as well, as the side are facing FFP (Financial Fair Play) issues. The club would be eager to cash in on the deal to settle their concerns with UEFA over the FFP rules.

Neymar has, of course, previously played for Barcelona in the past, before making a world-record switch to PSG in 2017. The Brazilian had been heavily linked with a move back to Barcelona, but his father has since denied the reports – even launching a brutal attack on the journalist on his Instagram for the ‘fake news’.

How Twitter reacted..

What next?

Neymar is currently on the sidelines after he faced an injury in January earlier this year. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will look to end the season on a high as they aim for a second spot in the league table.

The side is currently 3rd in the table – five points behind Atletico Madrid and 12 points behind league leaders Barcelona.
