Dead ball in cricket: Why was Rishabh Pant denied a boundary off Tom Curran in Pune ODI?

The Indian wicket-keeper was spotted in the club’s colors

The international break can often turn out to be a slow period for football clubs. With no action for the next couple of weeks as the international encounters take over, domestic clubs will stay away from the limelight for the period.

However, Liverpool’s social media team is pulling out all the stops to ensure the club is talked about during this stop in play as well. In a bid to make inroads into the Indian market and earn affinity with the football ardent audience in the country, the club was seen lauding Rishabh Pant on Twitter.

Pant Spotted In Liverpool’s Apparel

Pant who had missed out on the first ODI had posted a picture of himself with the team. Pant was wearing Liverpool’s home kit in the picture he shared as he wrote, “The team that enjoys together, wins together! Great to get together with the team for some fun in the sun.”

Liverpool’s avid observers were quick to applaud Pant for donning their colors as the club replied to the tweet with, “Loving the shirt.”

The red jersey looks to have worked wonders for Pant with the wicket-keeper going berserk in the second ODI. Drafted into the playing 11 in place of the Shreyas Iyer, Pant ensured he made most of his time in the middle as he slashed and hacked at the ball.

Pant And Rahul Take India Past 300

Pant clobbered England’s bowling unit to score 77 on the day before eventually departing to a Tom Curran delivery in pursuit of another boundary. Pant’s sensational knock continued his exceptional last couple of months on the international arena.

His innings and KL Rahul’s century saw the two stitch together a mammoth knock for the fourth wicket as the two powered India past the 300 run mark. The hosts have set up another daunting target for England, one the home side will be quietly confident of defending and with it sealing the three match ODI series.

India had previously won the first ODI with ease earlier in the week.
