Jason Roy Perth Scorchers debut: Watch English batsman plays fiery cameo in BBL comeback

Jason Roy: The opening batsman from Perth Scorchers played a good-looking cameo before getting out to Daniel Worrall.

During the 17th match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers in Adelaide, Perth Scorchers opening batsman Jason Roy gave glimpses of what his new franchise can expect out of him as the season progresses.

Roy, who had represented Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in the past, returned to the competition after a couple of years.

Opening the batting alongside wicket-keeper batsman Josh Inglis in a 166-run chase in his first match for Scorchers, Roy took on the attack against Strikers pacer Daniel Worrall’s second over.

Roy, who is known for hitting the pacers down the ground, put on display a couple of his speciality shots against Worrall. Having hit a six off a top-edge on the following delivery, Roy made amends soon as he played a sublime square drive in the same over.

It was on the fourth delivery of the fifth over when Roy stepped out against Worrall to his the ball down the ground despite Phil Salt at long-on waiting for such a mistake to be made.

With other Scorchers batsmen falling in quick succession, Roy remains their top-scorer as of now with his 21 (11) inclusive of three fours and a six.
