Lucas Moura Handball: Controversy erupts as Premier League VAR denies a goal to Harry Kane against Sheffield United over shady handball.
The Premier League VAR once again surrounds itself around a controversy as it denied a goal to Harry Kane after it spotted a dubious handball by Lucas Moura.
Shortly after Sander Berge opened the scoring, Tottenham Hotspur burst into a decisive counter-attack, Moura was leading the ball into the opposition’s 18-yard-box but was fouled on the way.
While the Brazilian was tripping over the ground, he probably brushed the ball with his hand, but certainly had no control over his action and wasn’t even probably looking at the ball.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United’s defence tried to clear the ball, but the poor shot struck Moura (probably on hand too) and the ball got deviated towards Kane, who shot the ball past Dean Henderson to equalize the score.
But the VAR found it suspicious and re-checked the goal. Upon verifying, VAR decided to disallow the goal and keep the score 1-0 in favour of the Blades.
Lucas Moura has been tripped and when falling to ground you use your arms.
What else is he supposed to do? #THFC #COYS

Meanwhile, Tottenham players and manager Jose Mourinho were infuriated and protested against the decision, claiming it to be a legal goal.
Whereas, even many fans on social media showed their disapproval with the decision and believed that it was unfair, as Moura was, first of all, fouled before he touched the ball, and additionally, he had no control over his body.
