Man United Transfer News: Marco Bielsa targeting Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero to bolster Leeds’ goalkeeping department.
Leeds United is back in the Premier League after long 16 years and the newly-promoted side needs to bolster their ranks to survive in the top-flight after the next season.
Therefore, according to The Sun, as per the tycsports, Bielsa is targeting Manchester United’s second-choice goalkeeper and his compatriot Sergio Romero this summer.
Kiko Casilla, who is currently guarding the goalposts for Leeds will probably not extend his spell with the Whites. On the other hand, Romero signed for the Red Devils after his heroics for Argentina in World Cup 2014.
But since then, he has remained a deputy to David De Gea, and despite latter’s poor performances, it doesn’t seem the management will let him take the charge, and at Leeds, he will probably be the first-choice goalkeeper.
Romero’s current deal runs out next summer although the Red Devils have an option of a further year. Thus, Leeds also has an advantage to bargain while negotiating.
Dean Henderson set to take the helm
While De Gea is regressing by every passing game, Manchester United’s loanee to Sheffield United- Dean Henderson has been spectacular this season with the Blades.
His performances made him earn an imperative position at the club and considering his growth, Ole Solskjaer and board is thinking of bringing back the player to the Old Trafford.
It is not confirmed whether Henderson is ready to take the baton from De Gea as of now, but whenever he does, he will surely be the undisputed no.1 goalkeeper at the club.
