Hudson Odoi to Manchester United

Manchester United are preparing a bid for Chelsea prodigy Callum Hudson Odoi.

Chelsea’s teenage prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi has been attracting interest from plenty of clubs over the last year. The Blues were involved in a huge tussle with Bayern Munich during the January transfer window by turning down four offers from the German club. Manager Maurizio Sarri made it sure that the club will be eager to keep him irrespective of the amount.

Additionally, the reliable German journalist Christian Falk confirmed that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are keeping their eyes on the 19-year-old in the hopes of finding an en route to land him. Manchester United become the latest club to join the race for Callum Hudson-Odoi’s signature away from Stamford Bridge.

According to the English publication Dailymail, the Red Devils are preparing a 30 million bid to prise Hudson Odoi away from Chelsea. The Bavarians bid near the above-mentioned award during the winter window since his contract runs only until 2020. There have been substantial contract talks have taken place since January.

But his situation has been complicated by Chelsea’s transfer ban, against which they are appealing. Hudson-Odoi beat Duncan Edwards’ 62-year-old record of being the youngest player to make his England debut in a competitive game on Friday. Bayern are set to come back with an offer worth 30 million pounds in the summer transfer window, reflecting the diminishing value of the English International.

Yet with Chelsea expecting a bid from Real Madrid for their star Eden Hazard in the forthcoming window and Chelsea disabled to sign players apart from Christian Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi’s future is in a more complex situation.

Chelsea were ready to award with an 85,000 pounds per week contract, but the English International has put forward his priorities right by wanting guarantees over his playing time rather than warming the bench by earning a hefty sum.

Hudson-Odoi is yet to start a Premier League game and he managed to get only 274 minute game time before the turn of the Christmas. Even though he is yet to nail down a spot in the starting eleven, he has managed to start many games in the Europa League ever since then.

Bayern Munich, who are planning for a revamp are now plotting a move for Hudson-Odoi as they see him in integral plans of the side and as a replacement for the long-serving Arjen Robben.

When Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was asked about Hudson-Odoi during the end of the winter transfer window, the Italian demanded respect from the player to move forward at the club.

“Eden is 28 so, if he wants to go, I think he has to go,” he said. “I hope the opposite. I hope he wants to stay and improve. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe and, sometimes, he’s happy with something less. It’s my job to improve him and put him in a position to do his best. Sometimes that means I have to say something [critical] in the press to do that. It’s normal. It’s my job.

“But Callum is 18 and he has to respect the club, the academy, everything. He has time. If you are one of the best young players in Europe, maybe the academy helped you. So you have to respect this. The situation of Eden is different. Callum’s a great player. He’d become one of the best in Europe in another team, too, but he has to respect the work of the academy coaches.”

“Because this is his home. We will be patient with him because he’s a boy from the academy. I don’t know if, at another club, people would be patient with him after five or six matches. It’s very difficult to go to another country and adapt or play very well immediately. That’s a difficult situation. It’s better for him to try and improve here.” said Sarri.

Chelsea will be unwilling to see Hudson-Odoi, especially to a Premier League rival. If the Blues do lose to either of Manchester United or Liverpool in 2020, a nominal fee have to be paid in order to secure his services.
