Man Utd News: United Star turned down a massive £550,000-per-week offer to remain at Old Trafford. Says he wants to bring the club back where it belongs.
Manchester United have been plagued this season with many of their top stars reportedly looking for a way out of Old Trafford. However, one player has his heart set on the red jersey he wears. So much so that he has reportedly turned down a massive £550,000-per-week!

90min have reported that United’s Spanish Midfielder Juan Mata received a mammoth contract offer from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG. The Spaniard had also reportedly attracted attention from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as he neared the end of his contract. However, Mata favored a stay at United instead.
The midfielder was disappointed with the one-year extension he was originally offered. However, he convinced United to hand him a 2-year extension. The contract was signed in mid-June; Just a fortnight to go until he was due to become a free agent.
Mata the Mentor
Manchester United are looking to rebuild the side under Ola Gunnar Solskjaer. However, the team will also require experienced heads and that’s where someone like Mata is very handy. He will be a vital presence in the room. Mata can act as a mentor to the young players around whom the manager desires to build his new look side around.
United have so far signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and are looking for more key additions to the side. Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes being a couple of names that they’ve shown interest in.
Juan Mata made 16 starts in the Premiere League last season. He managed a total of 32 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals and four assists.
