Man Utd transfer news: Ander Herrera set to leave Manchester United despite final efforts to make him stay as the Spaniard is about to join PSG.
Manchester United are looking for new reinforcements after struggling this season, however, in a blow to the Red Devils, Ander Herrera is set to leave the club despite trying to negotiate with the player.
Herrara has been an influential player ever since he joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao in 2014. The Spanish midfielder’s contract with the Red Devils is expiring at the end of the season.
Although, both the parties were trying to negotiate a deal but failed to reach to a conclusion. According to Sports, The 29-year-old will get a significant upgrade in his wages at PSG as he is set to earn around £170,000-per-week.
Moreover, a chance to play with a formidable duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe probably lured Herrera to join Les Parisiens.
On the other hand, Herrera’s exit poses a bigger challenge for Ole Solskjaer amid squad overhaul. The Manchester United manager kept no secret of bolstering his midfield this summer but the Spaniard’s exit will weaken the squad further.
Furthermore, transfer speculations of Paul Pogba to Real Madrid is another sign of worry for the English club. Therefore, Ed Woodward needs to prevent the departure of rest of the key players this summer.
How twitter reacted
United’s midfield certainly needs @AnderHerrera in it. He adds the legs and the guile in my opinion. I’m not entirely sure of his contract situation but allowing him to leave for PSG is criminal if already finalised. Loving Scott McTominay’s work as well @ManUtd.
