Man Utd Transfer News: James Maddison makes huge transfer claim after reported interest from Manchester United

James Maddison has claimed that he is not centralizing transfer talks amidst links with Manchester United.

James Maddison moved for a reported fee of £25 million to Leicester City from Norwich City last summer. The English International has been one of the best players in the league and has stamped his authority in the Foxes lineup.

He created 100 chances throughout the season, a tally which has not been matched by anybody in the league. Besides acting as a creative fulcrum for the side, he scored seven goals and set up seven goals for his teammates, which was enough to warrant interest from top clubs.

Albeit those interest, Maddison has vowed to carry on at Leicester City as he is not focussing on a transfer in this summer. He is rather feeling taking those interests as a compliment and wants to work on his personal development.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Maddison said: “No, you have just got to ignore that and take it all in your stride,”

“As a 17 year-old boy I’d started five games for Coventry and saw on my phone that I was being linked with Tottenham and Liverpool.

“With transfer talk you need to take it as a compliment that people are even talking about you, it won’t distract me.”

The attacking midfielder is part of England’s Under-21 Euro campaign which begins on Tuesday evening against France. He has not featured for the senior team yet, but he has an abundance of talent to break into the Manchester United starting lineup currently.

Since Maddison is seen as the cardinal part of his side, new boss Brendan Rodgers will desire to retain his services. He is contracted with the one-time Premier League champions until 2023 and it is nearly impossible to lure him away.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

James Maddison is most likely to stay at King Power Stadium despite being linked with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool.
