Man Utd Transfer News: James Maddison responds to Manchester United transfer speculations after their victory over Tottenham in the Premier League.
Manchester United are currently rebuilding with an eye out for young British talent with Premier League experience. The three signings they made this summer all fit this bill. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire are all English talent who can give the club many years of service.

Another young English talent is now on Manchester United’s radar. 22-year old James Maddison, who scored the winner for Leicester City against Tottenham in the Premier League yesterday, has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils in the January transfer market.
The Playmaker fits right into Solskjaer’s vision for the team. Manchester Evening News have reported that the club are monitoring his development ahead of his potential purchase in the winter. Amidst rumors of a possible move, Maddison was questioned by former Leicester forward Emile Heskey of his happiness at Leicester.
It’s brilliant- It’s a fantastic club!
“I can’t speak highly enough of this club,” Maddison said. “The opportunities you get and the warmness you receive.
“I’ve only been here for one year but I feel like I’ve been here for four or five years. That’s how you’re made to feel here.
“That’s not just people at the club, it’s players like yourself [Heskey] previous players that you meet around the place.
“It’s brilliant – it’s a fantastic club.”
Maddison, first step in fixing front four
Under Solskjaer, United play in a 4-2-3-1 formation. With Pogba and McTominay manning the midfield and the backline more or less sorted, the front four has been a source of concern for Solskjaer. Rashford is playing on the left while Martial has been given the responsibility of leading the attack.
Daniel James has impressed on the right but looks to be better suited to the left. However, lack of options on the right means that James will likely continue to play there. The no.10 position has been the most problematic. Neither Lingard or Mata has managed to play the role of the playmaker efficiently.
While Mata has slowed down with age, Lingard just isn’t good enough. This is where Maddison could prove to be an asset to this team. However, it remains to be seen if United can lure him to Old Trafford come January.
