Man Utd Transfer News : Manchester United make £72 million bid for Serie A superstar

Man Utd Transfer News : Manchester United make £72 million bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to bolster their squad ahead of the next season.

Manchester United are targeting to land Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio this summer in order to bolster their squad this summer, after facing an underwhelming campaign in the last edition of the Premier league.

According to a report by the Sky Italia, Manchester United have made an offer of £72  million to sign the Serbian midfielder this summer, but the Serie A side are desperate to keep hold of Savic.

Ole Solskjaer is looking for new midfield recruits after Ander Herrera quit at the end of last season and the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba’s future.

However, the Italian outfit are hesitant to lose the midfielder, and have raised his selling price to £90 million, with the 24-year-old player not willing to force out a move.

Although, on the other side, in an interaction with Gazzetta dello Sport,  Lazio president Claudio Lotito responded to the questions asked on Savic’s future with the club.

“Milinkovic-Savic? At Lazio, we keep only those who want to stay at the club. If the player expresses his intention to explore a new adventure, we will not oppose him.”

“At what price can we let him go? Negotiations are not made in the newspapers. I will only say that he is the best midfielder in the league.”

The report by Sky Italia further states that the Serbian International’s agent Mateja Kezman was in England last week, and reportedly held talks with Manchester United over a prospective deal.

With Manchester United’s summer transfer window approaching towards the end, Solskjaer is set to accelerate his chase for the midfielder, but this is the second bid by the Red Devils, as the first one of £67 million is already rejected by Lazio.
