Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing bids worth £130 million to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.
Manchester United are preparing a spending spree in the summer transfer window. The Reds Devils have been linked with the English duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire for a long time, but it will not be easy to lure them to Old Trafford in this window.
According to Evening Standard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set his sights on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire to bolster the backline. Ed Woodward is prepared to spend £130 million on the duo, who have also been targetted by Manchester City as well.
The Red Devils already bid £35 million plus £5 million add-ons for the Crystal Palace defender Wan-Bissaka. But the London club were quick to turning that bid down as they demand a fee around £60 million for the England Under-21 International.
The 21-year-old had a breakthrough season under Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park and was wanted by many clubs, but they were put off by the club’s demands. However, the Red Devils are prepared to spend a huge sum to lure him to Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire has proved to be en excellent business for Leicester City. The English centre-back was wanted by Jose Mourinho last summer, but Ed Woodward failed to meet the Foxes demands. After an overwhelming World Cup campaign, Leicester demanded a fee of £80 million, an amount which was never going to be met.
The 26-year-old was a target for Pep Guardiola last summer. The Manchester City boss retains interest on the defender and could make a move in this window. The Manchester duo will be forced to spend record transfer on the centre-back to have a chance of landing him. Brendan Rodgers is longing to keep the defender, but an offer worth 80 million will be too hard to turn down.
Whether an amount worth £130 million will be good enough to land this duo is not yet known. The Red Devils might have to spend even more to land them.
