Man Utd Transfer News: Solskjaer wants PSG Star at Old Trafford next season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen on Adrien Rabiot.

Manchester United fell short for the second time in three years by failing to make into the Premier League top four. The Red Devils failed to capitalize the missed points of their rivals in the final two game weeks despite facing already-relegated Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town.

United were high-flying when Solskjaer took over the club. They were running riot for three months, but things collapsed shortly. They have won just twice from the last 12 games in all competitions, thereby dropping down to the sixth spot. The Norwegian has been speaking about the necessity for incomings and has demanded patience among the supporters to reinforce themselves as a force once again.

Ander Herrera has a ridiculous offer from Paris Saint Germain, and the Spanish International has confirmed his departure from Old Trafford as a free agent in the summer. In order to bolster the midfield department, Manchester United are willing to make a move for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to the English publication, Metro.

The French International has not played for the Ligue 1 Champions since November for his refusal to extend his contract at Parc Des Princes. The 24-year-old is out of contract this summer, but his hefty demands have not been met by several clubs till date. He was a target for Barcelona, but they opted for Frenkie De Jong instead.

Rabiot requires a salary and signing bonus of around 10 million pounds per year and he remains coy on that aspect. The PSG product was seen as the next captain by the manager Thomas Tuchel, but he spoke his aspirations to play in different leagues.

There is a question mark over his attitude after Didier Deschamps’ refusal to guarantee him a starting place in the lineup. He decided to back out after attending a meeting with France manager. Albeit all these conundrums, Solskjaer remains keen on the midfielder who will be available for free in the summer window.

Juventus and Real Madrid are the other two sides interested on the midfielder.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..

What’s next?

Manchester United will have to wait until FA Cup finals to learn about their fate. The Red Devils will be forced to play Europa League Qualifiers if Watford overcome Manchester City.
