Man Utd transfer news: Manchester United have reportedly identified the two defenders to bolster their defence.

Solskjaer’s side secured a 2-0 victory in the FA Cup third round last night. Goals from Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku eased United’s way into fourth round of the cup tournament.

Manchester United have been impressive under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the side yet to draw or lose a game in the five games under his charge.

However, the board is keeping tabs on the transfer market and has reportedly identified the two defenders who could strengthen their defence.

The reason behind Manchester United’s lack of transfer activity in the summer transfer window has also been revealed by English media outlet Independent.

Man Utd transfer news:

According to Independent, Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has identified Napoli’s Kaildou Koulibaly and Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar as serious defensive targets.

The bids for both the defenders could be placed in the ongoing transfer window. However, it is highly unlikely that the players will join the side this season if the deals go through.

It has also been reported that the reason behind Manchester United’s lack of transfer activity is Ed Woodward’s adamancy to not want quick fixes in the side.

Manchester United were heavily linked with moves for Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire during the summer transfer window, but no deal was put on the table by the club.

Earlier, English journalist Duncan Castles stated that Manchester United have been quoted a price in the excess of 90 million pounds for the player.

However, La Domenica Sportiva states that the fee could reach up to 150m, which would make him the most expensive defender in the world.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, are aware of the interest Skriniar is receiving from across the top clubs in Europe. The Italian giants are currently in the process of persuading the Slovakian to sign a new deal at the club, with the current contract expiring in 2022.
