Manchester United agree deal with Ajax for transfer of Daley Blind
Daley Blind fell out of favour with Jose Mourinho last season.
The Dutch star joined Manchester United in 2014 during Louis van Gaal’s first season in charge at the club. Ever since his move to Old Trafford, Blind had been regularly shuffled through various positions, in defence and midfield. The Netherlands’ footballer also couldn’t establish himself as a first team regular at the club under Jose Mourinho, and is now ready to leave Manchester United.
Sky and BBC are among the many media outlets who are reporting Daley Blind’s departure from Manchester United. According to the reports, United have agreed a £18.5m with Ajax to sell Daley Blind.
This would mean Daley Blind will come back to his home club. Blind joined Manchester United from Ajax four years ago in a deal worth £13.8m.
In his four seasons at the club, Blind appeared in 90 league games, and made 141 overall appearances for the club.
The Dutch footballer won an UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and a Community Shield with Manchester United. In the 2017-18 season, Daley Blind played in only 7 league games for the club, making 17 appearances in total for the club.
It is understood that Daley Blind will sign for Ajax on a four-year deal. He will become the most expensive player in the history of the Dutch club if the transfer goes through.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have signed three players in the transfer window so far. While Fred and Diogo Dalot arrived at the club last month, Lee Grant signed for Manchester United from Stoke City earlier in July.
