Manchester United and Barcelona are circling Youri Tielemans.

AS Monaco have been in shambles this season struggling for results. The French outfit are currently 19th in the League table and have sacked their manager Thierry Henry to bring their former gaffer Leonardo Jardim back.

If they do drop down the league, there is a huge possibility of seeing many players leaving the club. Out of that crop, the midfielder Youri Tielemans is another player who has fared decently scoring five goals in the process.

The Belgian International was once left out of the squad for underperformance by the Portuguese International during his first stint at the club. He has featured heavily under the former manager Henry who decided to use him for every available game in the Ligue 1, Champions League, and domestic competitions.

The 21-year-old joined AS Monaco two years back for a fee of 21.6 million pounds from the Belgian outfit Anderlecht. The move has not worked for the midfielder who has struggled to produce the expected output from him.

The Red Devils’ midfield currently comprises of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, and Ander Herrera, with Fred, Marouane Fellaini, and Andres Pereira warming the hot seat. Tielemans’ compatriot Fellaini is attracting interest from AC Milan which might pay the way for Monaco midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said about the quality available in the frontline and he knows that the Red Devils do not quality players coming off the bench in other departments.

On the other hand, Barcelona have just signed Frenkie De Jong for a fee of 90 million euros. The Blaugrana are also prepared to seel Ivan Rakitic, Rafinha and Denis Suarez soon or rather than later which might force them to look for another midfield option in the market.

As reported by Sky Sports, the one time PL Champions are in talks with Monaco over a 20 million deal for the midfielder Tielemans in this window. The foxes are currently short of midfielders with Vincent Iborra opting to sign for Villarreal and Matt James’ injury trouble has forced Claude Puel to make a move in this window.

With plenty of time ahead of him, Leicester City might have a fantastic deal in their hands should they complete the deal before the transfer window shuts down.
