Mourinho is looking to build a team which will revolve around a strong wide flank and pairing of centre backs.

Keeping his long term plans in head, the 55 year old signed Alexis Sanchez in January and is keen on adding a right winger and centre back this summer. Ivan Perisic and Harry Maguire are the two names which are tipped to fill in the departments. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic’s injury has also caused a stir in Mourinho’s head.

The United hierarchy has assured to Mourinho that they will make a signing to fulfil his requirements. The Premier League’s transfer window slams shut one day prior to the kick off of the new season.

Manchester United play the season’s curtain raiser at the Old Trafford against Leicester City on the 10th of August.

The Red Devils have already signed Diogo Dalot, Lee Grant and Fred but have made none from the big names they’ve been linked with.
