Manchester United fans furious over Jesse Lingard being offered new contract

Manchester United fans furious over Jesse Lingard being offered a new contract as the fans don’t see him good enough for the club.

Manchester United fans do not think highly of Jesse Lingard and many think he is not good enough to remain at the club anymore, and shall be transferred.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder made 36 appearances across all competitions last season and only managed to score five times and registered four assists. Thus, making fans question his inclusion.

According to a report by the Evening standard, Manchester United are continuing to push through deals for Mason Greenwood, Paul Pogba and Lingard.

But on the other hand, Manchester United fans are frustrated with the underwhelming Lingard. The English International has a contract with the Red Devils with 2021, and many are suggesting that he should be sold by the club by next summer.

Twitter user Jamie tweeted: “He is 27 [sic] and he is not good enough championship at best.” Another fan Liam Riddell argued: “If he didn’t come from the academy he’d be playing in the championship.”

A fan with twitter handle Bas, angrily posted: “How on earth is that possible? If he proved one thing this season so far is that he isnt [sic] fit to play for Manchester United’s first team. 3rd/4th option from the bench at best. Time for him to proceed his career elsewhere. No hate, just not good enough.”

Meanwhile, Lingard has appeared for Manchester united only 5 times this season, and have failed to net even one goal for the Red Devils. Although, he was close to score a goal against Astana but eventually missed it.

So far, Manchester United doesn’t look like they will transfer him this winter, as the club is short of players but could sell him next summer. Moreover, they might not rise his pay if they give him a new contract, as they probably have learnt from Alexis Sanchez transfer saga.
