The Anthony Martial situation becomes more complicated at Manchester United.

A few hours after Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley stated that the player wants to leave Manchester United, there’s a twist to the player’s transfer situation. According to Sky, Manchester United have no intention of selling the player.

Sky reports that the Red Devils want to keep Anthony Martial at the club. The report has claimed that the French forward remains a part of the club’s plans for the new season. Anthony Martial still has a year left in his Manchester United contract.

United have the option to further extend his contract by another season.

Earlier, Lamboley said that United does want to extend a deal, but there has been no agreement for several months.

“We have not reached an agreement for several months. [Martial is] disappointed because he has shown his love for the club and the supporters for three seasons,” Lamboley told French outlet RMC Sport.

“After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,” Lamboley said. Lamboley further added that there are many factors beside the lack of playing time, but that it’s not the right time to talk about it.

Martial scored 11 goals this season is 45 appearances. However, after Alexis Sanchez signed for United in the January transfer window, his opportunities were limited.

“I think that when United, the most powerful club in the world, do not find an agreement after eight months of negotiations then they do not really want to keep such an important player in their squad,” Lamboley said.

“That’s why this decision has come – it’s a well-thought-out decision,” the player’s agent further added.

Anthony Martial’s lack of playing time this year, and his inconsistent form this season was the major reason behind his exclusion from the 23-member France squad for the world cup this summer in Russia.

Martial signed for Manchester United in 2015, under Louis van Gaal. He has since won a UEFA Europa League title, FA Cup, and EFL Cup with the club.
