Unease over David de Gea’s situation has prompted Manchester United to monitor the Barca star.

Premier League giants Manchester United will launch a £88.25 Million bid for Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen if they sell David De Gea.

The German has been a rock for the Catalan Giants and is only into his third season at the club. He is destined for a great future and looks like one of the best shot-stoppers the Catalan Giants has ever had. His performances this year has attracted interests from across the continent.

According to reports in Spain, the Red Devils are aware of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in David De Gea. Being aware of David De Gea’s situation, Manchester United have identified Marc André ter Stegen as the perfect backup plan.

Don Balon has reported that United would be willing to part with around €100 million to prise the 26-year-old shot-stopper away from Barcelona, where he is the first-choice goalkeeper. Such a fee would make Ter Stegen the most expensive goalkeeper of all time and the fees would also be enough to convince Camp Nou chiefs to sell him. Last summer, Manchester City bought Ederson from Benfica for £35 Million – breaking the 16-year record set by Juventus when they paid £32.6 million to sign Gianluigi Buffon from Parma.

Ter Stegen has kept 18 clean sheets this season, second to only Atletico Madrid’s shot-stopper Jan Oblak in La Liga. The German goalkeeper is said to be happy at the Camp Nou, but if an official offer is made, the shot-stopper will seriously consider his future in La Liga. Let’s see what future holds for the German goalkeeper.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, when they face Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley as Mourinho targets his third major trophy at Old Trafford.
