Manchester United team news vs Liverpool: Jose Mourinho received a major boost ahead of the game against Liverpool.

Manchester United will take on the high-flying Liverpool in the Premier League later tonight. Mourinho’s side is currently 6th in the Premier League, while Liverpool will regain the position at the top of the table with the win over United.

The Old Trafford side returned to winning ways in the league with a 4-1 victory over Fulham last weekend, but suffered a shock loss at Valencia in the final game of the group stages of the Champions League.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are high on spirits after qualifying for the round-of-16 of the Champions League after a 1-0 win over Napoli, and reached the top of the table after Man City lost to Chelsea last weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side would aim to end Liverpool’s unbeaten run as they take on Klopp’s side, and received a major boost ahead of the game.

Manchester United team news vs Liverpool:

Jose Mourinho earlier stated in the pre-match conference that United have an injury crisis, as all squad members who didn’t travel to Valencia, except De Gea and Matic were injured.

However, the manager now received a major boost as Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Diogo Dalot have all travelled with the squad to Liverpool, according to Manchester Evening News.

Martial has been one of the most impressive performers for United this season, and Diogo Dalot had been terrific for the side in the game against Fulham last weekend. The Portuguese youngster also won the man of the match award for his performance.

Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw have also been the regular features for the defence at the club. After Phil Jones committed a glaring error in the game against Valencia earlier this week, Mourinho would be relieved to have his first-choice centre-back Chris Smalling back in the side.

Smalling also signed a new deal with the club last night. Under the new contract, Smalling would stay at the club till 2022.

Lindelof, meanwhile, suffered an injury during the game against Crystal Palace. The Swedish defender picked up form and had been impressive before being forced to sit on the sidelines.

It has also been reported that Fred wasn’t seen with the United squad. The midfielder was substituted after 56th minute in the game against Valencia.
