Manchester United Transfer News: Man United confident in signing Premier league defender Harry Maguire over Manchester City.
Manchester United are massively interested in hiring the services of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire. Since, the Red Devils faced an underwhelming season in the Premier league, Maguire became a priority target to bolster their squad.
Thus, in recent advancement, according to a report by the Daily Mail, Manchester United a re confident to land the English International, since the Red Devils are ready to reach near the asking price of £80 million by the Foxes.
On the other side, Manchester City are also reportedly after the 26-year-old defender, as they are looking for a suitable replacement of Vincent Kompany, who left the club after the FA Cup triumph by the Citizens.
However, it is further stated that Manchester City value the player at £50 million, and are not willing to upgrade the offer for the player, as he is not a necessary buy presently.
It is likely that Maguire would prefer the Premier league champions over Manchester United but it seems that Leicester City would not agree n nearly half the amount they want, as they are not in any financial pressure.
Moreover, the English defender signed a five year extension with Leicester City last September after his glorious performances with England during the World Cup 2018. Thus, giving a significant advantage to the Foxes in negotiations.
It is likely that Manchester United have gained a lead in the pursuit of Maguire. However, it is yet to know whether the 26-year-old defender is ready to arrive in the Old Trafford or not.
