Manchester United Transfer News: Manchester United finally accept terms on Harry Maguire deal. The move is set to make Maguire the most expensive defender in the world.
Manchester United’s defence lacked venom and bite last season as Manchester United leaked goals at crucial junctures last season. Manager Ola Gunnar Solksjaer look ahead to fix the back four this season. He bought in Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace to that end and it now looks like he has finally managed to bring in his top transfer target of the season.

Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, has reported that Manchester United have finally agreed to Leicester’s demands for Harry Maguire.
United finally agreeing terms on the £80m Maguire deal.
Mad amount of money to spend on him and Wan-Bissaka this summer but also very necessary— Dean Jones (@DeanJonesBR) July 21, 2019
United had initially offered £70m for the England international. However, the foxes turned the offer down, holding out for £80m instead. This would have made him the costliest defender in the world going past the £75m Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.
“We don’t have to sell Harry.”
Leicester Manager Brendan Rodgers had said then:
“Harry has been absolutely brilliant about this right from the word go. He’s a top, top player and a top guy. I think it’s important the supporters know that.
“I’ve been in this situation before with players and it’s not always easy but Harry has been absolutely superb. We’ve had a chat about it, obviously.
“He’s happy and I tip my hat to him for the way he’s dealt with all this because it can be unsettling.
“I’m relaxed about it all. We understand the situation from all points of view because United and City are big clubs.
“But unless they meet our valuation he won’t be sold and it’s as simple as that.”
It looks like those valuations have now been met. United will be hoping that Maguire continues to perform as exceptionally as he did last season and solve their back four problems.
