Manchester United transfer news: Romelu Lukaku eyes 'dream' Serie A move

After Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku has made another controversial statement regarding his future at Manchester United.

Manchester United have been in terrible form at the moment. The side conceded defeats in 7 of their last 9 games across all competitions.

Ever since the glorious night at Parc des Princes where Manchester United defeated PSG, the performances have gone downhill at a rapid pace. The side suffered defeats in the quarterfinal of the FA Cup and the Champions League, and faced a 4-0 loss at Goodison Park to Everton last weekend.

This week, Manchester City defeated Solskjaer’s side 2-0 at Old Trafford to take the lead over Liverpool in the title race. Interestingly, Manchester United are still alive in the battle for the top-4, as Wolves registered a win against Arsenal, while Chelsea also dropped points against Burnley.

The things off the field continue to remain tense for the club as well, as Romelu Lukaku has made a controversial statement over his future at Manchester United.

Pogba and Lukaku: United no more a Dream?

French midfielder Paul Pogba said during the international break last month that a move to Real Madrid is any footballer’s ‘dream’. Justifiably, the Manchester United fans were angry, and media began linking the player to a Real Madrid move.

And now, Romelu Lukaku has joined the bandwagon – not for Real Madrid, though.

The Belgian striker, in a conversation with Sky Sports, stated that he wants to play in Serie A “sooner or later.”

“Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream,” Lukaku said.

“I hope to be able to play sooner or later, even if at the moment I am focused on the United.”

Romelu Lukaku has struggled with form in this season. However, he made an impressive comeback under Solskjaer is currently the second highest goalscorer at the club, behind Paul Pogba.
