Both United and Chelsea have had the most victories in their opening matches in the Premier League with United clinching 18 and Chelsea 17 before tonight. Chelsea’s transfer embargo meant that Frank Lampard could not bring any new players in. Instead he was forced to rely on the youngsters in the team.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not restricted by any such ban. However, he chose to place his trust on the youngsters in the squad and only dipped in the pool to bring in necessary replacements; Two thirds of whom are only 21.
United demolish Chelsea 4-0
Chelsea looked to dominate possession in the beginning and looked the likelier of the two to score. However, a Kurt Zouma foul gave United a penalty. Marcus Rashford placed the ball in the nets and United walked out of the field at half-time with a one goal lead.
In the second half, Anthony Martial added to the score with a low volley. After this the floodgates opened and Chelsea never seemed in the game anymore. Rashford piled on the misery by converting a brilliant pass from Paul Pogba before debutant Daniel James scored in his first Premier League appearance for United.
United couldn’t have asked for a better start to their Premier League campaign and will now hope to carry this momentum to the other games.

We were the better team in the first half, the attacking play was encouraging and we hit the woodwork twice. Still some great performances in there, we’ve still players to come back, get some extra work on the training ground.#CFC #MUNCHE #KTBFFH

Refreshing honesty from Lampard about Chelsea's shortcomings. Both teams made lots of mistakes today, but Chelsea were punished clinically. Lots of lessons to take away#MUNCHE #EPL #PremierLeague #MUFC #CFC
