Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard wanted by 4 Premier League clubs. The attacking midfielder’s future at Old Trafford is currently uncertain.

Jesse Lingard has struggled for form this season with Manchester United. The attacking midfielder has failed to register a single goal or assist all season and has lost his place to new recruit Bruno Fernandes since his arrival in January.

With reports of United’s interest in Aston Villa midfielder, Jack Grealish, the academy graduate may find minutes even harder to come by. However, a future beyond the Red Devils is not out of the realm of possibilities for the 27-year old.

According to 90min, Leicester City, West Ham, Newcastle United and Everton are interested in singing the player. However, United could trigger an extension in his contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2022. In doing so though, his role within the club will change from being a first team regular to a squad player.

Former Tottenham star Darren Bent however, believes that Lingard would benefit from a move to Everton.

“I don’t think it’s too late for Jesse, he’s a good player,” Bent told Football Insider.

“I think he did so much in such a compact space of time – he did brilliantly for England, brilliantly for United in the space of about three years – that he set his standards really, really high. Scoring in cup finals, helping England to get to a World Cup semi-final – people then expect that every single week.

“Sometimes you get to a point where you can become stale at a football club. Maybe the fans don’t believe in you like they used to, going to get a fresh start might help.”

He then added: “Going to a top club like Everton, with a great manager there, that might just help him ignite it.

“He could be an integral part of what Ancelotti is building.”
