Manish Pandey catch vs West Indies: Watch Pandey grabs outstanding boundary catch to dismiss Nicholas Pooran

Manish Pandey catch vs West Indies: The Indian batsman put on display an exceptional fielding effort to dismiss West Indies wicket-keeper batsman.

During the second T20I of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies at Lauderhill, India cricketer Manish Pandey grabbed an exceptional boundary catch to dismiss West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran.

It all happened on the second delivery of the 14th over when Pooran’s attempt to up the ante saw him walking back to the pavilion. Targeting a left-arm spinner in India all-rounder Krunal Pandya, Pooran aimed to hit him over the long-on region.

Pandey, who was fielding at long-on, timed his jump to perfection to catch the ball, loft it in the air, get his balance right and eventually complete the dismissal. While Pandey could only contribute 6 (8) with the bat in the first innings, the catch was a brilliant way to contribute to the team’s cause.

Pooran, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the second over, played second fiddle to Rovman Powell in a 76-run partnership for the third wicket. Before getting out, Pooran ended up scoring 19 (34) with the help of one four.

While this was Pandya’s first wicket of the match, he found Powell (54) wanting in front of the stumps in the same over to earn his second wicket in the same over.

After India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, India scored 167/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs on the back of vice-captain Rohit Sharma’s 17th T20I half-century. Opening the batting with Shikhar Dhawan, Sharma ended up scoring 67 (51) with the help of six fours and three sixes.
