The Indian Team got off to the perfect start in the 1st T20, completely battering the Lankans on all fronts to take a 1-0 lead in the 3 match series.

Rahul and Iyer put up a good partnership after Rohit was dismissed cheaply, and Pandey and Dhoni took over later, unleashing themselves in the final few overs to build on the platform laid down by the Indian top order.
Manish Pandey and MS Dhonin got along really well in the death overs, striking the ball fiercely and taking India over 180.
In the post match presentation, Pandey spoke about how MS Dhoni told him to move across and hit it in order to get more runs for the side. Pandey was also really happy to have strung a partnership with Dhoni in the middle and to have helped India post a huge total on the board.
“The last innings I played against SL, it was a good one. Take a little few balls to start with; once you get your eye in, just start to hit. Some tips (received from Dhoni) here and there. He was asking me to move across and hit. Pretty happy to have a partnership with MS. It’s good to always start well. It was a great win for us. We should continue to play well.” Pandey said.
India won the first T20 by a record margin of 93 runs and would be hoping that they can seal the series in the second game at Indore in order to give some game time to their bench in the 3rd T20
