Marc-Andre ter Stegen Irked By Luis Suarez’s Dive During Barcelona Vs Atletico Madrid: The Atletico Madrid striker had dished out his traditional antics on Saturday

Saturday’s showdown between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid was one of the most crucial ties in the La Liga season. It was not only down to the stature of the two clubs gracing the affair but also owing to the ramifications emanating from the tie.

With the winner of the affair gaining massive ground in the title fight, either side stepped into the clash yearning for the three points. And adding to the intrigue of the affair was striker Luis Suarez with the Atletico Madrid man returning to a stadium where he had thrived as a player.

Well versed with Barcelona and their gameplan, Suarez looked to make use of the knowledge at his hand to down his old employers. Unfortunately for Atletico Madrid, Suarez decided to indulge in his shenanigans to try and guide his side to a win.

Suarez Dives Under Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s Touch

Regarded as one of the dirtiest players to have graced the game, Suarez showed why he’s earned the moniker over the years. The visiting side’s striker went down under the slightest of Marc-Andre ter Stegen contact in the first half as he claimed a penalty from the referee.

His actions didn’t go unnoticed though with Marc-Andre ter Stegen left irate at Suarez’s dive. The Barcelona goal-keeper was seen seething at Suarez as he lambasted his old compatriot for his behaviour.

The two sides meanwhile failed to break the deadlock on the night with the clash ending at 0-0. In what was a closely contested and feisty affair, the two sides saw defence dominate the play with both the goal-keepers being hectically worked.

The result saw Atletico Madrid maintain their two point lead atop of the La Liga. The table toppers are currently on 77 points as compared to Barcelona’s 75 with either side having three matches left to partake in.

The draw has meanwhile come across as a massive shot for third placed Real Madrid who can move level on points with the league leaders with a win today.
