In the wake of their 3-1 loss to Champions League title holders Real Madrid, Paris-Saint Germain were not given a boost in their post match press conference as well when star player Marco Verratti was asked about his move to La Liga with Barcelona.

The Italian midfielder was linked heavily with a move to the Catalans last year. Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli claimed the Italian was a “prisoner” and then shortly afterwards very publicly apologised for his comments and that was that.

Though Verratti claimed he is happy at Paris, he couldn’t commit about his future if the club sold him.

“Barcelona? I don’t know, I am happy here in Paris,” he told Premium Sport.
“I believe in this project and I hope to stay here long. Maybe PSG will sell me but let’s see.”

Meanwhile, PSG still find their Champions League voodoo on themselves. Despite of getting in huge signings like Neymar and Mbappe, PSG couldn’t make a significant mark as they lost the first leg at Santiago Bernabeu. Very similar to their historic collapse against Barcelona at the Nou Camp last season, where they conceded three goals in 10 minutes, PSG conceded two in seven minutes to hand Real the upper edge.

Although grabbing the victory, Real Madrid cannot yet celebrate as the Parisians have the all important away goal in their hand and the home game in the second leg fixture.

That does not sound like good news to PSG fans. Barcelona fans though will be salivating at the prospect of seeing Verratti and Coutinho in the same side.
