Mason Mount Injury: Three potential replacements for Chelsea midfielder in FPL Gameweek 6

Mason Mount injury: Chelsea youngster could face a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury against Valencia.

Chelsea youngster Mason Mount suffered a horrific injury against Valencia. The English International clattered into Francis Coquelin, whose follow-through caught Mount in the process. The Frenchman was rightfully punished and received a yellow card, while Mason Mount was substituted in the process.

The injury looks nasty and it is likely to witness him sit on the sidelines for the upcoming clash against Liverpool. The attacking midfielder has shone this season, securing three goals in the process. He has been a consistent performer in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), acquiring 31 points from the opening five games in the Premier League. It’s a stunning return for someone who’s lingering around 6.5 currently.

We shall look at three potential replacements for Mason Mount in the Fantasy Premier League.

#1 Todd Cantwell (Norwich City)

Todd Cantwell is one of the pick outs in the Premier League this season. The Norwich City midfielder is deployed through the central midfield, but has the tendency to get into the box more often.

Cantwell has two goals and one assist and has been the regular supplier for Teemu Pukki, who was the August’s Premier League Player of the Month. Just under 5.0, the midfielder has been dragged into 22% FPL owners after impressing early this year. He has 27 points and could be a useful player to replace Mason Mount in the starting eleven.

#2 Harry Wilson (Bournemouth)

Bournemouth play Southampton and West Ham in the two upcoming games. Since the defence will be left open, the Cherries will take full advantage of it as they following attacking methodology.

Since his loan move from Liverpool, Wilson has managed to start three games out of four under Eddie Howe. He is not a sparkling player by linking up with his teammates, but his output is surreal. He can score goals for fun and takes set-pieces as well. He scored a memorable free-kick against Manchester City. He has scored twice and has a price tag of 6.0.

#3 Moussa Djenepo (Southampton)

Moussa Djenepo has been under the radar for quite a while now. The Southampton attacker has scored twice in the Premier League till now and could change the game on his own if he’s provided with much-needed creativity.

He completes plenty of dribbles and has the ability to carry the ball from the midfield. He has relatively fine fixtures and could prove to be a handful replacement for Mason Mount. He’s valued at only 5.7.
