RR vs KXIP match in IPL 2019

RR vs KXIP match in IPL 2019: Sportsrush presents before you the full Match Prediction of the fourth match of IPL 2019.

The fourth match of the 12th season of the Indian Premier League will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab at Jaipur tonight. With both the teams falling in the category of underdogs, one expects an intriguing contest due to the presence of some individual names.

Talking of these names, Royals batsman Steve Smith will allure maximum eyeballs for he will be making his comeback after the infamous Ball Tampering Saga during the tour of South Africa last year. With Universe Boss Chris Gayle sitting in the opposition dugout, the legendary batsman will call for bountiful attention.

What do numbers suggest?

In the 17 matches which Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have played in the IPL, Royals have won 10 whereas Kings XI have won seven. With the match slated to be played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the hosts are likely to have an upper hand.

In a stat which has it in it to make things look further difficult for KXIP is the fact that they have never won an IPL match against RR in Jaipur. If Punjab manages to win tomorrow, they will be end a 12-year old streak of losing matches in Jaipur.

With an average run rate of 8.49 and an average score of 166 against Punjab, Rajasthan outdoes the opposition on this front as well. KXIP have an average run rate of 8.11 and an average score of 160 against RR.

KXIP have never ever beaten RR in an IPL match played in March. Furthermore, with the match being played on a Monday, it will be the third time that both the team are locking horns against each other on a Monday. During their earlier encounter on a Monday, both the teams have won a match each.

Out of the last six encounters between these teams, Punjab have won four while Royals have won only two. Barring their recent form against RR, KXIP don’t much to count for tomorrow’s match. Don’t expect the match to be a one-sided fixture but the overall numbers make the hosts as the favourites.
