"Andar hi rakhna": Watch Rishabh Pant's gold advice before Matthew Wade dismissal in Boxing Day Test

Rishabh Pant’s gold advice: The Indian wicket-keeper was inch-perfect with his suggestion in the build-up of Australian opener’s dismissal.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia in Melbourne, India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant grabbed a solitary regulation catch to dismiss Australia opening batsman Joe Burns (0) off India spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

While Pant didn’t get to catch or affect a stumping throughout the day, one of his suggestions to India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin worked exceedingly well to the extent of Pant’s words were executed in the exact manner by Wade.

Known for his uninterrupted commentary from behind the wickets, Pant was heard on the stump mic suggesting Ashwin to bowl inside the stumps to Wade.

Thoda andar rakhna isko. Better hai. Woh maarega [Bowl to Wade inside the stumps. It is better. He will play a big shot], ” Pant was heard on the stump mic on a delivery before Wade’s dismissal which was completed by India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja superb catch despite a collision with debutant Shubman Gill.

After Australia captain Tim Paine won the toss and chose to bat, India bundled out the hosts for 195 in 72.3 overs. Batting at No. 3, Marnus Labuschagne was the best Australian batsman for scoring 48 (132) including four fours.

For India, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah (16-4-56-4) and Ashwin (24-7-35-3) shone with the ball. Having scored 36/1 in 11 overs at stumps, India still trail by 159 runs.
