Mauricio Pochettino has asked Manchester United to wrap up the deal for the Premier League star.

Current Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with Manchester United following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. It is understood that the Argentine is leading the shortlist for vice-chairman Ed Woodward who has sorted out his priority.

Former Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho was shown the exit door following a humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool in December. With many managers being employed elsewhere, the English outfit decided to call back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Interim Manager.

Should Manchester United pursue a deal for Mauricio Pochettino, they will have to pay the release clause which is believed to be 34 million pounds. With getting short-term success under Mourinho, the Red Devils are looking to rebuild the whole club.

Confiscating Pochettino from Daniel Levy could prove to be a tough task. If they match in flying colours, there is no doubt that the Argentine would have a hefty sum to spend at Old Trafford.

According to Manchester Evening News, it is understood that Mauricio Pochettino has made his transfer priority and has asked the club to wrap a deal for Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison.

The former Norwich City midfielder has been significant for the Foxes and has been hitting the headlines. His linkup play with Jamie Vardy has been a treat to watch.

Claude Puel’s side would get a profit of 45 million Pounds in the summer transfer window. The Foxes paid 25 million Pounds to secure his services from the Championship club Norwich City and could sell him for an exorbitant fee of 70 million Pounds.

Liverpool did not show genuine interest on the England International which forced the midfielder to move to the King Power Stadium during the summer transfer window.

Gifted with set-piece abilities and acting as an interlink between the midfield and the attack, there is no question about the potential of the 21-year-old.

The performances of the young midfielder have been lauded by several pundits till date. The English International looks to be the creative hub of Mauricio Pochettino’s side should both the deals happen in the summer transfer window.
