Megan Rapinoe says gays are essential to win games after USA beat France in World Cup quarter final

Megan Rapinoe claims gays are essential to win the games after USA defeated the hosts France in the Women’s world cup quarter-finals round.

Megan Rapinoe led USA to the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup after scoring a sensational brace against the hosts and tournament rivals France in the 2-1 victory last night.

After the victory, the 33-year-old footballer insisted that gay people are really necessary for success and to win the games, the statement by Rapinoe came after USA secured their qualification in the next round.

Rapinoe has not backed down following Trump’s criticism though, saying after the victory over France: “Go gays!

“You can’t win a championship without gays on your team – it’s never been done before, ever. That’s science, right there.” said Megan Rapinoe

“I’m motivated by people who like me, who are fighting for the same things. I take more energy from that than from trying to prove anyone wrong. That’s draining on yourself. But for me, to be gay and fabulous, during Pride Month at the World Cup, is nice.” she further added.

The comments by Rapinoe has surely been applauded, because in a sports like Football, homosexuality has still remained as a taboo, with only a slight fraction athletes coming out of closet.

Thus, after a legend like Rapinoe asserting her identity and support to the queer community, a scope of dialogue can be expected soon in the football fraternity.

USA’s co-captain has always remained outspoken about her thoughts, as recently in a footage released she declined to go to the White house, if her team wins this edition of the World cup.

The American International later urged her team-mates to “think hard” about whether they would do the same. In return, Trump accused Rapinoe of “disrespect” and told her to focus on winning the trophy.

According to Rapinoe, the USA President is a misogynist and sexist. The 33-year-old player later gathered a huge support in the feud between the two.
