Messi free-kick vs Espanyol: Lionel Messi scored two great free-kick goals vs Espanyol in the derby.
Barcelona scored four past Espanyol to complete an all-round performance in the league’s first derby. Lionel Messi scored a brace, as he netted the ball past the goalkeeper with two excellent free-kicks.
Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez scored in the first half to put the game to bed within the first 45 minutes.
Suarez performed a cheeky nutmeg on the goalkeeper Diego Lopez from a tight angle, as he returned to Barcelona after missing the last game with injury.
Barcelona, with this win, remain at the top of the La Liga with 31 points from 15 games. Sevilla were forced to another draw in the league by Valencia, and stay at 2nd, while Atletico Madrid are level with Sevilla at points. Real Madrid will play against Huesca later tonight.
Messi free-kick vs Espanyol:
Lionel Messi scored two excellent free-kick goals in the game. The Argentine star opened the goalscoring in the 17th minute of the game with a brilliant curler. Messi drew a foul to himself after chipping inside the midfield, and scored from about 30 yards to give Barcelona the lead.

In the second half, Messi scored an ever better free-kick, from the wrong side of a left-footed player. He shot another goal into the top corner, and unlike the previous free-kick, Diego Lopez failed to register even a faint touch on the ball.
The goalkeeper could do nothing but sit down in dismay after Messi’s brilliance was too good for the night.

These were some of the best reactions to Messi’s superb performance:
Not sure how but I accidentally deleted the tweet of Messi’s first freekick. It didn’t deserve such technical ineptitude so I’ll repost it. pic.twitter.com/EX3V30a4Zu

Messi’s most underrated skill is his defending. If you notice when he loses the ball he instantly gets up and 90% of the times gets it back. Truly a complete footballer, nowadays we see players mastering one part of the game while Messi has mastered every aspect of it. pic.twitter.com/uJacEyCizf

Gary Lineker: “2 sensational free kicks from Messi again tonight. 10 in all in 2018. Ludicrously good. Anyone who watches a lot of football and has any understanding of the game knows he’s on a different planet to everyone else.” pic.twitter.com/M4MG62ev7w
