Mesut Ozil: Arsenal star mocks Unai Emery during Europa League final defeat | Arsenal News

Mesut Ozil was reportedly caught mocking Unai Emery during Europa League defeat.

Arsenal were not able to persist the pressure and were undone by Chelsea in the second half. The Blues scored four in the second half, thereby winning the second Europa League in six years. It was a horrendous performance in the second part of the game which has forced the fans to raise a few questions towards Unai Emery.

The Spanish International has not enjoyed a good relationship with Mesut Ozil since his arrival at the club last summer. The German International was told that he would not meet Emery’s high pressing game and wanted him out. An offer was also turned down by the player from Paris Saint Germain in the January transfer window.

Unai Emery even offered him to Inter Milan, but the Italian side were not prepared to meet his ridiculous wages. He was not starting games for some time, but he was slotted in the starting lineup after Aaron Ramsey’s injury.

The Welsh International picked up a hamstring injury while in action for the Gunners against Napoli in the Europa League. This has paved the way for Ozil to start games, but the results have been dull, to say the least. Just like the Semifinals, Ozil was selected in the final starting lineup against Chelsea.

The 31-year-old registered nil shots and assists, and was dispossessed five times throughout the game. He was taken off in the second half for the youngster Joe Willock. Albeit being three goals down, Mesut Ozil walked down the pitch when the clock was ticking down and approached the bench.

When he was furiously watching his team go down, Ozil said: “I swear you are not a coach.”. Since he said in Turkish, lip-readers took an opportunity and picked up his mockery, according to Fanatic.

This has reportedly infuriated Unai Emery, who wants him out of the club at any cost. With no Champions League at stake for the upcoming season, Ozil will be forced to leave the club.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Arsenal will be without Champions League football for the third season running for the first time. The Gunners have a crucial summer, but they are not expected to spend highly because of the failure to qualify for the European football.
