Young fan reacts to Ozil

Mesut Ozil has always been loved by the Gunner faithful, and even the neutral fans. It is not because he is a world beater, but a great human being who spends the time to surprise fans and do some charity work.

In a video doing rounds on social media, a young Arsenal fan named Kyan was spotted saying that Arsenal is his favorite club, and Mesut Ozil is his favorite player in that roster. Hence, the German decided to surprise him by paying a visit.

The reaction of Kyan is just amazing. When he turned back to look at the German, the young kid was speechless and murmured “I’m just dreaming… I’m dreaming.” when Ozil asked for a hug.

He was also spotted with a young fan at the Emirates Stadium when he was out injured for the clash against Huddersfield. The game ended 1-0 in favor of the Gunners, but this young fan would be remembering this incident more than the game.

Additionally, Ozil used his wealth to help the needful in various ways, from inviting kids to watch the Arsenal game to funding the operations of 23 seriously ill children in Brazil following the 2014 World Cup – an act that Mesut earned the Laureus Sport for Good Award.

The German has said that he does not look for any attention from the media when he helps the people who are in need of the basic stuffs.

Mesut Ozil once spoke to the Standard regarding this “I want to help people in need but I don’t want people to know I’m doing it,” he told The Times. Usually, I don’t like talking about it. I come from a background where you don’t show off the good things you do. It’s modesty.

“My aim is helping kids. Kids are the future. I love children. I’m thinking of my own childhood. I know where I’m from. If I wanted something, I couldn’t get it. Life wasn’t easy. Things I didn’t have in the past I try to give to kids. I know how it feels not to have things. We were poor but we had enough food to eat. It was a big family, four kids, and it was not like you could just go and buy something. But we had the essentials, the food.”

“My parents gave me the right principles, so I didn’t get carried away. They always told me to be down to earth, that I was not special. They told me always to be nice to people. They said: ‘You maybe have the ability to be a football star but it doesn’t make you better than your brother and sisters. Respect each other. Be together’. That’s how I grew up. It’s a cultural thing.” Ozil added.

Mesut Ozil, who has returned to full training, will be available to take part in the League cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
