Mesut Ozil: Unai Emery takes massive decision on Arsenal star's future at the Emirates Stadium

Unai Emery has taken a huge decision on Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal.

Arsenal can ensure their return to the Champions League by clinching a victory over Chelsea in the Europa League finals. It will not only help the club’s on-field progress, but it will help financial terms as the money would eclipse automatically.

With the high financial strength, Emery would be open to making his first choice signings. At the other side, the failure to qualify will dramatically decrease the budget for the Spaniard.

Studying all possibilities, the Gunners boss will act on Mesut Ozil’s future, which is dependent on the Champions League qualification. The German International is currently sitting on £350,000 per week wage which has come back to haunt Arsenal at times.

In order to rectify that situation, Unai Emery has said Mesut Ozil to move from the Emirates if they fail to defeat Chelsea at Baku, according to the English publication Standard. If they manage to secure Champions League football, Ozil is more likely to stay put at Arsenal, the move which the former Real Madrid midfielder wants.

Mesut Ozil’s contract expires in 2021, but he is likely to stay at the club should they secure CL football. He is one of the major creative outlets for the Gunners and it would be a major loss for them. However, Unai Emery has stuck to his philosophy which sees his side press higher up the pitch, a tactic which does not suit the German.

Ozil was subjected to interest from Paris Saint Germain in January, but he turned it down in the favour of staying at Arsenal.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to leave the club, regardless and the club are keen on Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser. The Scottish International was second in the assist table last season with 14, only behind Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. With Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up front, Fraser can flourish at the Emirates.

Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech, and Danny Welbeck have run down their contracts, whilst a permanent deal for Denis Suarez is unlikely to materialize. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Shkodran Mustafi, Carl Jenkinson, Mohamed ElNeny, and Callum Chambers will head the exit door in the summer transfer window.
