Having registered another away victory against Delhi Capitals last night, three-time Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians have not climbed to No. 2 in the points table on the back of six victories in nine matches.
Slated to play against Rajasthan Royals tomorrow, another win will bring the Indians in vicinity of an IPL 2019 playoffs berth. Out of the four away matches which Mumbai Indians have played till now, they have won three and lost the remaining one. MI would be looking to continue their away winning streak in the race to the top of the points table.
MI Playing 11 today
Top-order
With every start which Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma gets and not converts, the prospects of him playing a substantial knock in the next innings experiences a great rise. 223 runs at an average of 27.87 and a strike rate of 131.95 are not the numbers which you associate with the 31-year old cricketer.
While Mumbai Indians sent in all-rounder Ben Cutting at No. 3 last night, they are expected to not repeat the same tomorrow. With Suryakumar Yadav scoring 26 (27) yesterday, his season numbers stand at 209 runs at an average of 23.22 and a strike rate of 129.01.
With Siddesh Lad and Anmolpreet Singh waiting in the ranks, it wouldn’t be a surprise if MI play a new No. 3 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Middle-order
Replacing ill Ishan Kishan with Jayant Yadav, Mumbai played a plethora of bowling options against Delhi Capitals. Already possessing the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga, MI might look to include a middle-order batsman in a bid to bolster their batting lineup.
Given the manner in which Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard have played this season, there is no hiding to the fact that they hold the key for MI down the order. With Hardik Pandya scoring 218 runs at a strike rate of 194.64 in IPL 2019, it speaks highly about him not wasting any time at all in the death overs.
Bowlers
Having dismissed six batsmen in six matches at an average of 23.83, an economy rate of 6.50 and a strike rate of 22, Rahul Chahar has been Mumbai’s go-to spinner his season. MI would also be looking to bring back one out of Mitchell McClenaghan or Jason Behrendorff in Cutting’s place.
If Mumbai decide to play an extra batsman from their last match, expect Jayant Yadav to be benched against Rajasthan Royals tomorrow.
