MI Predicted Playing 11 vs CSK

MI Predicted Playing 11 vs CSK: The Sportsrush presents before you MI’s Predicted Playing XI for their fourth match of IPL 2019.

Mumbai Indians have followed their trend of the past few years and managed to get off to a shaky start yet again by winning just one of their three matches so far. Their only win came against RCB in a thriller of a match which was also marred by the no-ball controversy.

However, Rohit Sharma and his men would like to put all the negativity behind and look towards climbing up the points table by getting a few points starting with a win against their arch-nemesis, the CSK.

MI have been very successful at the Wankhede Stadium over the years and they would fancy their chances on a pitch which is not very suitable for the CSK spinners.

MI Predicted Playing 11 vs CSK

Top-order

MI’s opening combination looks settled with captain Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock opening the batting. They have played sensible cricket together. While de Kock has an aggressive approach, Rohit has taken up responsibility by trying to play the role of an anchor. They have looked comfortable and it is highly unlikely that MI would consider tampering with this pair.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was extremely impressive last year, has managed to cross the 30-run mark only once in this season. While it is likely that he would be given a few more opportunities, Yadav needs to make the most of it considering the competition for his spot in the team is extremely high with Ishan Kishan knocking on the door.

Middle-order

Old war-horse Yuvraj Singh has been surprisingly good in all the matches so far. He has the ability to play the role of an attacking batsman as well as knock the ball around. Being the second highest scorer for MI this year, he is set to play a crucial role.

The Pandya brothers have also contributed significantly with Hardik playing the role of a finisher astutely. Krunal deserves a promotion up the order as he can be lethal with both bat and ball.

The same cannot be said about Kieron Pollard who has scored just 33 runs in 3 matches and has looked completely out of sorts. The team management may stick with him if they go solely by emotions but Ben Cutting would probably make the cut due to his ability of contributing with the ball as well.

Bowlers

The MI bowling attack is one of the strongest in the IPL. With the Wankhede pitch expected to be a tough one for spinners, the possibility of dew makes matters worse. It is expected that the fast bowling trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan and Lasith Malinga would continue to try and wreak havoc.

McClenaghan, although not very economical, is a wicket-taker on tracks like the one in Mumbai. Mayank Markande would be looking to replicate his breakthrough 2018 season in the upcoming season. The Pandya brothers and Cutting complete the bowling line-up.

MI Predicted Playing 11 vs CSK – Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj
Singh, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Lasith Malinga, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah.
