MI vs KXIP Dream 11 team Prediction: Dream 11 Fantasy Cricket Tips for MI vs KXIP as The SportsRush helps you form the best possible Dream 11 side.

The first reverse fixture of this season’s IPL is upon us, with the Kings XI Punjab travelling to Mumbai to complete the double on the former.

In the first game between these two sides at Mohali, KL Rahul battled his way to an unbeaten 71 of 57 balls, aided by a brisk match-altering innings by Mayank Agarwal, who was awarded the man of the match for his effort. Quinton de Kock and Hardik Pandya had helped MI to a respectable total of 170 odd, but in the end KXIP did it in style winning the encounter by 8 wickets.

Now, with the Wankhede track offering a flat deck to the batsmen, one can expect fireworks from both teams on Wednesday. Since that loss, MI have found their way back into the IPL, with Alzarri Joseph leading them to a humongous win in Hyderabad.

KXIP too are coming off a strong win agains the same franchise, as KL Rahul once again led the team to victory in a tough and demanding chase.

Let’s get to business now.

MI vs KXIP Dream 11 team Prediction

Wicketkeeper for MI vs KXIP Dream 11

For the wicketkeeping slot, it is going to be a straight shootout between QDK and KL Rahul. While you can’t really know which of these two would fire, I will try and depend on recent form to make my decision. KL Rahul has emerged as an evolved player this IPL season. He has been playing with more responsibility, something that is visible from his role in KXIP chases and how he has been showing a constant effort to bat all the way through.

The Rahul of the yesteryear would be happy with a brisk start, the Rahul of today wants to be there at the end, no matter what.

Bowlers for MI vs KXIP Dream 11

With Dream 11 not putting a lot of faith in the bowlers, making their points system unfavourable for them, I have decided to go in with 3 bowlers, all worth 8.5 cr. Also, the Wankhede has time and again proven to be a graveyard for bowler

Alzarri Joseph’s insane 6 wicket haul in the last game vs SRH is enough to warrant a place in my side. For the second pick, I go in with Jason Behrendorff or Lasith Malinga, whoever gets picked for Wednesday’s game. Malinga is available for selection and could be drafted in straight away, but that would mean coming in at the expense of Behrendorff, as you cannot chuck Alzarri Joseph out after a historic performance.

Both these bowlers feature at the death and at that cost, are extremely effective with respect to the wickets they can get at the death. Whoever plays, get him in for sure.

For the final bowling pick of the day, I would be getting in Mujeeb for this game. On a flat deck, it is only Mujeeb’s trickery that could provide some respite to the KXIP bowling unit, as the highly explosive MI batting order would be looking to take full toll of the ball coming onto the bat the Wankhede. Get Mujeeb in.

Update: Get Viljoen in instead of Mujeeb.

All-Rounders for MI vs KXIP Dream 11

The Pandya brothers take up my two all-rounder spots. Hardik Pandya has time and again show in this year’s IPL why he is so important to that Indian setup. With Dhoni’s late order hitting powers diminishing, Hardik Pandya holds the key with respect to upping the ante for both MI and India. He has done so admirably well for MI this season, also scoring 31 off 20 in the reverse fixture at Mohali.

With the ball too, Hardik has the uncanny knack of picking up wickets when it really matters.

Krunal Pandya has been trusted in that number 5 role by MI this season, especially when leg spinners or left arm spinners are operating. While he hasn’t been hitting the ball off the middle, his role in the team, wherein he comes at 5 and bowls 4 overs during the middle give me enough confidence that he is going to shower me with some points.

Batsmen for MI vs KXIP Dream 11

On a flat deck, you want to stay away from missing a Chris Gayle and a Rohit Sharma special. If they fire and you don’t have them in your team, you are in for a nightmarish Dream 11 rank. To avoid that heartache, get both of them in. Considering the pitch on offer, these two should be amongst the runs.

The KXIP middle order has been in safe hands this season, with Mayank Agarwal emerging as one of the best number three batsmen of IPL 2019. His ability to read the game and adapt accordingly has helped him play some match winning knocks for his team. Even in the last game against SRH, Mayank kept the score board ticking along with KL Rahul and took the pressure off with a big shot whenever the need arose. Again, on current form, he is one of the most trustworthy batsmen to have in your side.

Sarfaraz Khan too has matured in a large way, making that number 4 spot in the KXIP line up his own. He has matured from playing those little cameos to actually constructing his innings according to the demands of the situation. He has repaid his captain’s faith brilliantly, as after that abysmal season with RCB, not many would have picked him their squad, let alone give him the responsibility of handling that number 4 spot.

For my final batting pick for this game, I go in with Keiron Pollard, who has hit form at the right time for MI. Against a bowling line up that doesn’t quite have a lot of menace, except probably Mujeeb, who anyways would bowl out during the powerplay; I expect Keiron Pollard to fire big time.

Update: Get Karun Nair and Suryakumar Yadav in instead of Mayank and Rohit Sharma
