MI vs RR Dream 11 team Prediction: Dream 11 Fantasy Cricket Tips for MI vs RR as The SportsRush helps you to form the best Dream 11 team

Mumbai Indians are riding high  on the ‘Keiron Pollard’ energy, one that took over the Wankhede in their last home game. Rohit Sharma and co. will be expecting more of that to engulf Mumbai on Saturday, as MI look to build some momentum going into the business end of the tournament.

RR on the other hand will need to play out of their skins and win this, but most importantly, they’ll have to clear that mental block of ending up losing games in crunch situations.

All of the games that RR have lost, they had a goof chance of coming out on top. They have panicked when they should have been calm and have handed over wins to the opposition.

Now, with teams making that surge for the playoff spots, RR are still wondering about this ‘mental hoodoo’, one that has plagued their IPL 2019 chances.

However, Wankhede could be a good place to turn things around, especially from a batting perspective. The pitch has been as flat as a road and a Jos Buttler special could just sort things out for the Rajasthan franchise.

Let’s get to business now.

MI vs RR Dream 11 team Prediction

Wicketkeeper for MI vs RR Dream 11

For the wicketkeeping slot, it is going to be a straight shootout between QDK and Jos Buttler. While QDK was MI’s highest scorer going into the last game, he has failed to convert his starts into something substantial. Jos Buttler too has been off colour in the last two games, but on a flat wicket at the Wankhede, purely on the basis of skill, I expect Jos Buttler to score more than QDK. Get him in.

Bowlers for MI vs RR Dream 11

Jofra Archer is the first bowling pick for this game. The way he controlled the game with the ball against CSK, gives me renewed hope about his wicket taking ability. While he currently doesn’t feature in the top wicket takers for this season, his pace and accuracy at the death is something that works in his favour. It is only a matter of time that Archer gets bucketloads of wickets under his belt. Trust in him, it is going to come sooner than later.

Now, I have already explained why I am going in with bowlers that are worth less, as the Dream 11 fantasy game doesn’t quite give the bowlers what they are due. Hence, no point investing heavily in bowlers, as the returns are quite low.

Thus, for the remaining two bowling spots, I would be going in with bowlers who are worth 8.5 cr. All three possible MI foreign quicks are worth the same, and two of them are sure to play, as Malinga has already returned to the MI setup. With the Wankhede offering a little assistance to the pace bowlers, Alzarri Joseph, Jason Behrendorff and Lasith Malinga could reap a few benefits.

If Behrendorff plays, he should be the first win, because that left arm angle provides something different. Between Malinga and Joseph, whoever MI pick, just go ahead with him, as that bowler will operate at the death and could run away with a few cheap wickets.

All-Rounders for MI vs RR Dream 11

Hardik Pandya has had a brilliant IPL up until now, scoring runs for fun at the death and chipping in with a few wickets during the middle and end phase of the game as well. The way he has been striking the ball, especially at the Wankhede where the ball comes on and files off the bat beautifully. Get him in for sure.

For the second all-rounder, I get in Ben Stokes, who again has been off-colour this season, but his role in the side is one that gives him all the required opportunity to succeed big time. Coming in at 5 to bat and gets to bowl at least two overs at the death; Ben Stokes can really shower you with fantasy points, if he hits the nail on its head. He hasn’t been doing that until now, but amongst the players on display on Saturday afternoon, Stokes is amongst the finest.

For the final all-rounder pick, I go in with the left-handed Pandya brother. Krunal has often been used at number 5 by MI, to keep the left-right hand combination going. Now, while Pollard hitting form in the last game could end Krunal’s little stint at 5, his contribution with the ball is enough to warrant him a place in my side.

Batsmen for MI vs RR Dream 11

Rohit Sharma is scheduled to make his way back into the MI XI for Sunday’s important home game. He was out because of MI’s win against KXIP because of a slight hamstring scare, but is fully fit for Saturday’s encounter. On a flat deck, you need to stack your team up with stroke makers from both teams, especially if they feature in the top 4. Rohit Sharma is probably the best stroke maker that will step onto the field on Saturday; get him in at all costs.

For the second batsman, I would go in with the in-form Keiron Pollard, who made quite the statement in the last game against KXIP. Captaining the side in the absence of Rohit, Pollard showed the world why the Mumbai franchise has always heavily invested in him. Also, it seems like he would be batting higher up the order from now on; at least that is what he wanted to show his captain last time. If he does come into bat at 4 once again, we could be in for another night of Pollard brilliance.

Suryakumar Yadav has been batting at number 3 for MI this season and while he hasn’t gone onto get a big score for himself, he has been there and thereabout. On a flat deck and against a bowling lineup that isn’t as threatening as some of the others in this competition; I’ll get Surya in.

For my final pick for this game, I’ll get Sanju Samson in. The RR youngster has been a promising cricketer for so long now that it pains to see him not play for the Indian team. He hit form when he scored that brilliant hundred in Hyderabad, but an injury has halted his progress this season. However, he is back into the side now and should get back to his scoring best, thanks to the largely batting friendly Mumbai track.
