LeBron James created history in the game agains the Denver Nuggets last night, when the Lakers man overtook the great Michael Jordan to secure 4th spot on the NBA all time points list.

Finishing the Nuggets game off with 31 points, LeBron James now finds himself with 32,311 to his name, close to 1300 points off Kobe Bryant’s record of 1300 points(who sits in 3rd place on the list).
LeBron James’ record was extremely well received all across Staples Center and social media, with fans and NBA players congratulating the big man on his wonderful achievement.
LeBron James too spoke about his achievement post the Nuggets game, emphasising on Michael Jordan’s role in his life and how he always idolised him while growing up.
* @kingjames on Jordan: “What he did for our psyche, what he did for our swagger as little kids made us believe we was invincible. To sit here today and be linked with the greatest I ever seen play the game is crazy to me … he inspired me in more ways than I could imagine.” https://t.co/uXjRYisWjm

“You guys have no idea what MJ did for me and my friends growing up. … I thank MJ more than he would ever know."

LeBron was thankful to MJ for having inspired him and made him work hard towards being someone who others could look upto.
Reciprocating that love for LeBron James, Michael Jordan released a statement, as confirmed by CNN’s Jill Martin, praising LeBron for yet another feather in his illustrious basketball career.
“I want to congratulate LeBron on achieving another great milestone during his amazing career.” Jordan’s statement read.
Hornets owner Michael Jordan issues brief statement on LeBron James passing him on the NBA’s all-time scoring list: “I want to congratulate LeBron on achieving another great milestone during his amazing career.”

Jordan did not really take into account the emotional statement made by LeBron and instead decided to come up with a standard one for the time being.
Maybe once MJ gets to read all of the kind stuff that LeBron has said about him in the media today, he would draft out a larger and more detailed statement for LeBron.
While all the accolades belonged to LeBron James tonight, he couldn’t really lead the Lakmakeers to a win against the Nuggets. His team succumbed to their 4th straight loss and currently sit 11th in the Western conference.
With the fixture list a little too cruel to them in the last phase of the regular season, the Lakers could very well say goodbye to their playoff chances.
LeBron and co. would need massive help from the Clippers, Kings and the Timberwolves, along with winning all their games in order to just make it to the playoffs.
But then till then LeBron would like to enjoy this major acheivement, one that takes him a step closer to being referred to as the greatest player of all time. Currently Michael Jordan holds that tag to himself, but if LeBron can somehow lead the Lakers to glory in the years to come, who knows what the basketball gods have in store for us.
