Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah was awarded a penalty, and the fans react to it..
Liverpool secured their sixteenth win of the season by beating Newcastle United 4-0 at Anfield. Goals from Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Fabinho sealed yet another comfortable win for the Reds.
In a game which was purely dominated by one team, the referee had to award an unconvincing penalty to the Reds just one minute into the second half.
In all dramatic situation, Jurgen Klopp’s side were awarded their first penalty in the Premier League at Anfield after 424 days.
Here is the video of the penalty being awarded.

The Egyptian went past the left-back Paul Dummett, and the next man Jamaal Lascelles stood in the way of Salah.
The left-back looked to have pulled Salah’s hand, which in turn was enough to assure the referee who awarded a penalty.
In the studio, pundits were also split on their decision which was awarded in the favour of the Reds attacker.
Even though it’s a 50-50 call, some fans have started to label the record goalscorer as “cheat” and “diver” in twitter.
Clear dive from Salah. Newcastle robbed. #BoxingDay #LIVNEW

Mo Salah deceived the referee by exaggerated dive. Retrospective action surely @FA

That Salah dive is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. 😫

Does Salah get a retrospective for the dive? Lost track of the rules

Following a slow start to the season, Mohamed Salah has found his feet and is the second highest scorer in the League with 12, finding himself only behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who nicks him by one goal currently.
Besides, he finds himself fourth in the assist chart this term. By finding his teammates on six occasions, the Egyptian takes his goal contribution tally to 18 from 19 games this term.
He has often been criticised for the failure to turn up and score in big games this season.
But, his crucial goal against Napoli in the Champions League group stages was enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to send Liverpool into the knockout stages.
However, his overall performances have been pleasing the Liverpool fans who are expecting him to star whenever he takes up the field.
Liverpool have conceded just seven goals after the completion of the first set of games which is a Premier League record.
With fears about Manchester City’s goalscoring frenzy early on in the season, the Reds have matched the goal difference.
Following this easy victory, two tough tests awaits for the Reds. They will face Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday, followed by a gigantic clash against the title rivals Manchester City away from home on Thursday.
