Mohamed Salah tried to pass ball to Joel Matip after replacing him against Shrewsbury

Mohamed Salah tried to pass the ball to Joel Matip even though he replaced him in the match against Shrewsbury at New Meadow last night.

Shrewsbury had a glorious night at home as the League One side played a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the 4th round of the FA Cup to earn a replay fixture at the Anfield.

Earlier it seemed that Liverpool will take the game away with ease since the Reds were on a lead by 2 goals and with only a half to go, nobody would’ve expected Liverpool to concede twice considering their form this season.

But a brace by Jason Cummings brought the hosts back into the game. Even after this Liverpool tried to get the win as Jurgen Klopp brought Mohamed Salah in for Joel Matip to bolster the attack in the dying minutes of the game.

However, it seems that Salah was not aware that he has replaced the Cameroonian International. Matip was on the side of the pitch walking towards the dugout when Salah made a pass towards him thinking of some other Liverpool player on the pitch.

Surprisingly, this was the first touch made by Salah after coming on the field at his place. Salah’s error was reminiscent of the time Renato Sanches passed to a Carabao pitchside advertising board by accident and prompted Swansea City manager Paul Clement to put his head in his hands.

Meanwhile, despite Salah coming on, Liverpool still failed to register their 3rd goal to win the game, giving their counterparts a chance to play at the Anfield for further qualification.

Anyway, Liverpool still has the upper hand and at the Anfield, the Reds are even more fierce as they have not lost a single game over there this season. But, on the other hand, this replay fixture will bring some significant financial benefits to Shrewsbury
