Mohd Siraj wickets: Siraj picks two in two by dismissing Dom Sibley and Haseeb Hameed in Lord's Test

Mohd Siraj wickets: The Indian fast bowler provided his team with an apt start in the evening session of the second day at Lord’s.

During the second day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of England at Lord’s, India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj provided an apt start to his team in the evening session.

Introduced as a second-change bowler in the 13th over, Siraj was handed the ball to start proceedings after tea with his second over. It was only on the second delivery that Siraj drew first blood in the second innings by dismissing England opening batsman Dom Sibley (11).

Sibley, who had put on display a solid defense until the time of his dismissal, fell to the Indian trap as he ended up playing an aerial flick to Lokesh Rahul at short mid-wicket. With India captain Virat Kohli placing as many as three close fielders on the leg-side, an aerial flick would’ve always been a risky shot for Sibley.

Making the most of the occasion, Siraj then sent back Haseeb Hameed for a first-ball duck. Batting at the highest level after half-a-decade, a nervous-looking Hameed ended up playing inside the line of a delivery which pretty much didn’t swing at all.

With a decent cloud cover over the venue, India wouldn’t have asked for a better start to the third session after being bundled out for 364 in 126.1 overs in the previous session. With almost a couple of hours remaining in the match, the visitors would be hoping for picking at least one more wicket to put England further under pressure.
