Moin Khan bats for Pakistan beating India

Moin Khan bats for Pakistan beating India: Former Pakistani captain believes that their bowling will trouble the Indian batsmen.

Former Pakistan captain and wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan believes that Pakistan will be able to defeat India for the first time in a World Cup later this year. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan have lost all the six matches which they have played against India during the ODI World Cup.

With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 scheduled to begin on May 30, the arch-rivals will lock horns against each other on June 16 as India and Pakistan will play their fourth and fifth match of the tournament respectively.

Believes Pakistan can beat India

Highlighting the talent, depth and variety in the current Pakistan squad, Moin Khan opined that the team is very capable of beating India at Old Trafford, Manchester.

“This present team is very capable of recording a first win over India in a World Cup because there is talent, there is depth and variety and Sarfaraz Ahmed has now gelled the squad well,” Moin Khan was quoted as saying on GTV News channel last night.

Referring to Pakistan beating India during the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 by a colossal margin of 180 runs at The Oval, Moin Khan mentioned that they have the better bowlers for English conditions.

“I say this because our boys beat them (India) in the Champions Trophy two years back and I just feel that in English conditions in June we have better bowlers,” he said.

Overseas experience will help Pakistan

The 47-year old also said that Pakistan’s recent experience of playing in South Africa, Australia and England will come in handy for them during the tourney. “This should be a very interesting World Cup and I am backing Pakistan to beat India.

“Our boys are in good spirits and it is good they will go into the competition after having played ODI matches against South Africa, Australia and England. Pakistan has been one team which has done well in England in the last many years and in May-June the weather can be unpredictable and there is moisture in the pitches,” he added.

Being asked about whether Sarfaraz Ahmed should lead Pakistan during the world event, Moin sounded clear in his words mentioning that there is no better person than him to lead Pakistan.

“I don’t know why all this fuss was made about the captaincy after the ban imposed on him for an incident blown out of proportion to my mind. I have seen Sarfaraz lead the team and I know since he was a junior and I have captained and coached him and I can tell you there is no better person to lead the Pakistan team than him now,” Moin concluded.
