Mourinho on Man Utd board: Manchester United manager talked about the side’s crushing 4-1 victory against Fulham.

Manchester United returned to winning ways with an emphatic 4-1 win over Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham in the league. The side has now climbed up to 6th position in the league, but their final league position in the week will be decided by the result of the game between Everton and Watford.

Jose Mourinho’s men ended a dismal run of draw games in the league as United scored three past Fulham before halftime. Ashley Young opened the goalscoring, while Juan Mata doubled the lead. Romelu Lukaku scored his first goal in 252 days at Old Trafford and Marcus Rashford ended the game with an excellent goal from outside the box.

United have scored 26 points from 16 games so far, and have finally maintained a positive goal difference on the table.

The Manchester United manager talked about the game during the post-match conference, where he took a hilarious dig at the United board.

Jose Mourinho on Man Utd board:

The Manchester United manager was in a good mood after the team’s solid performance against Fulham, but that didn’t prevent him from taking yet another dig at the board.

As Mourinho entered the room for the post-match conference, he said, “Are we saving money? No water! Saving money for January?”

Mourinho has previously fired shots at the United board for the lack of transfer activity in the summer. Manchester United bought only two first-team players, and a back-up goalkeeper.

In the January transfer window, various reports have speculated that Manchester United could go for a defensive signing.

Mourinho also talked about the game, stating that the team played with intensity, and that it was a perfect first half.

“The first half was really good. We left no chance in Fulham. We were strong, aggressive and intense. Sometimes it was a beautiful football. The first half was perfect.

“We were intense without a ball and with the ball. Without the ball, we pressed, we held Mitrovic away from the goal. With the ball it was simple, one or two keys. We were really good.”

Manchester United will now play against Valencia in the Champions League.
